Make sure the Retain Capitalization box has a tick. Type the word/phrase which is not in Italics in the Find box. Click the first drop-down to change the option to In: Any Field. Aeromonas salmonicida into the Replace with box. 
In the Find and Replace window, paste (Ctl+V) the fomatted word/phrase e.g. Click Edit from the top menu bar and select ‘ Find and Replace’. Click on any of your references again in the central pane, then click Ctl+A to select ‘all’ the references. Click ‘ All References’ in the right hand pane. The steps below are highlighted in this image from EndNote Make sure it is still selected and press Ctl+C to copy it, then save and close the reference. Aeromonas salmonicida should now appear in Italics. Use your mouse to select or highlight the word/phrase to be changed then in the top menu bar click I for Italics. Double-click on one of your references in the central pane on the screen to open it in the full edit screen (it does not matter which one as long as it mentions the words to be changed e.g. Please take a backup of your EndNote before making changes ( File > Compressed Library (.enlx)) This example formats the Latin name Aeromonas salmonicida to italics. You may need to select a group, or range of records and follow these steps rather selecting 'All references'. a persistent typo in multiple records etc., but think carefully whether you might inadvertently change records incorrectly. 
You can use the same technique to make other bulk edits e.g.
to format species names or other scientific words you wish in Italics.
